Oh damn! I actually even fav'd this picture back then, haha! I kinda took light-forged draenei and their similar hoof-designs as an inspiration for it, plus a comment from Illogical-Lynx on one of my earlier drawings .
But since I always look for ideas in my favourites aswell, this picture sure had a big part in it too ^^

heh, surprise then. However I'm quite happy more are adapting this design, as it's logical.
I chose this particular one for my Tauren DK as she has her homebase in Northrend - and icy surfaces are quite slippery if hooves are the only thing you've got. That's why her irons (btw. it's something from our reality: www.rainfeld.net/index_html_fi… ) are blue (made from Cobalt ore - found in Northrend) have these spikes and particular shape. And armor - it has to look good, but much more importantly: It has to be functional and offer protection without interfereing with mobility and agility.

Gah, dammit, I always feel like I'm cheapening myself if I fave a few pictures in a row from one person but your latest couple have just shown such cool improvement over your previous work that it's definitely warranted!
...that and I'm a total sucker for glowy lights!
There's so much detail here and your lineart works brilliantly for the little nicks and scratches in the plate. I think the skulls on the weapon are fine. They're kinda distorted anyway, so it calls to mind those shrunken heads that cannibal tribes in the jungle made- I imagine having your soul sucked out of your face is probably a bit traumatic to skull structure. Very necromantic.
You really knocked the ball out of the park with the hoof-shoes. The plates at the front look really cool and it makes sense that a sentient race using shoes like that would figure out ways to make them more stylish than the ones they nail on dumb beasts. If you don't mind, I'd quite like to steal that idea for Kyro and the cnossi at some point in the future haha
The anatomy looks pretty good all round. Again, you've done a good job with the double-joined knees and I like the angle of the feet too. Her weight is quite clearly leaning forward on the weapon and that's shown effectively. Something I think I've mentioned before that I think is... not necessarily wrong, but just a bit marginal is that perhaps the bust line is still a little low, even accounting for the forward lean? Even allowing quite a large forward lean in the collarbone and pelvis, I think the ratio between collarbone-bust to bust-pelvis is getting on the high side. I think if the bust was a bit higher, you wouldn't have to place that groin guard so low underneath her leg there. Here's my scribbling on this: i.imgur.com/WuQ9qio.jpg
If there's an issue here, I don't think it's very big, but I think it would be really worth double and triple checking during your sketch phase for this.
Clouds and background look awesome, I love the pink-red you used for the sky there, it's very sinister and contrasts well with the blue glow. The only change I might have made was that is looks as though the three lower clouds have a sorta fisheye on them? I understand matching that to the ground, but I think clouds are generally high and far enough away that there isn't so much visible rotation on them?
Anyhow, fantastic work. I'd say this is definitely my favourite of your pictures so far. The detail and the lighting are all such a leap forward from your previous work that you've really set yourself a new standard!

No problem
Ah cool, thanks. Kyrophon's equipment is all low-grade stuff hammered out by humans in a hurry, but I have a character from his backstory who's gonna have some really expensive and ostentatious kit so would be good for him I think.
I think it's less about foreshortening or 3D, I think it's actually just vertical placement in 2D. I don't see anything wrong with the shape (and you've got a lot of artistic licence with shape too), it's just where you're placing them. Do you start with a stick figure? I've been drawing the ribcage as the first construction after the stick figure, maybe something like just drawing where the bust line is at this step and checking those ratios would help?
