Description Sweet Fancy Moses, it's been awhile since I posted. You guys don't want to hear about the hardware/software issues that come with upgrading your entire system and all that and the other stuff, do you? Pretty much just "shut up and get to the art, Shawn" then? I wholeheartedly agree.

Appropriate that my last piece on dA was of Lady Blackhawk and my first piece back is Starling, a character more or less created to fit the DC New 52's Zinda Blake-shaped hole (Starling's co-creator Duane Swierczynski is quoted about that in this interview: [link] The relative quote being this: [link] ).

Anyway, I had a Twitter friend recommend the "Birds of Prey" relaunch, and it's really good stuff. Starling is by far the scene-stealer. I'm liking the way Swierczynski writes her and I LOVE the character's design. But whoever decided to create an action-oriented character with a sleeve of tattoos is just a glutton for punishment.

Me too! If DC gets rid of her or puts her with another team than Birds of Prey, I'm gonna be upset and probably throw a chair at my window. LOL! I'm jk, but nah I would be disappointed. Starling is that chick that can be like a tomboy, but be a chick that you wanna hangout with because she's so cool in keeping it real! lol

This is the first fanart I have seen of Starling . I like the lighting on her arm. I find it a bit hard to like Starling because I dont know much about her and she reminds me of Lady Blackhawk in personality and Oracle in computer abilities but once she gets further development I could end up liking her more.

On the one hand, I kind of like that there isn't much Starling fan art at this point, because that means anyone who is seeking it out will come across mine that much quicker, but I also really do like the character, so I wish there was more. I'm interested in seeing what they do with her down the line.

Thanks, pal. She was the inagural piece with the new software. Still have some things to learn with the update, but I managed to figure out a few things. It's not fun unless you're learning every step of the way, is it?

Starling is probably my least favorite character in the new Birds reboot, but you did a beautiful job drawing her! Great job-I love the shadows on her and the pose!
