Time for some self-promotion I suppose. Valkyrie is a character who has appeared in the various Airboy and Air Fighters titles since her debut in 1942. She's a German aviatrix who fought on the side of the Axis before eventually defecting to the Allies. Her special skills include her ability to fly planes, hand-to-hand combat and not popping out of her impossible outfit while doing all those things.

Valkyrie shows up again in Moonstone's Air Fighters #2, which should be out in September. I illustrated the Chuck Dixon-penned chapter which features the second meeting of Airboy and Val back when they were still butting heads and being flirty about it.

This is kinda sorta an homage to the famous Airboy cover [link] by Dave Stevens (that guy again! I mentioned him in my Rocketeer drawing, obviously). The cover was itself an homage to her first appearance by Fred Kida, which can seen here [link] I used the same color scheme as Stevens', and the "Return of Valkyrie" wording. This was kind of a warm-up, since I plan on eventually doing a much closer interpretation of the cover(s).
