Description Back in 2015, it was found it that if you examined a well preserved fossil feather with an electron microscope, you would be able to find trace fossils of pigment-containing organelles, and other structures that indicate color. Thanks to this analysis, we now have a pretty good idea of the colorations of Sinosauropteryx (stage right guitarist), Microraptor (drummer), Anchiornis (lead vocalist), and Sinornithosaurus (stage left guitarist).

This was drawn for fun, so I didn't use much reference (I think Anchiornis's head came out too much like that of Velociraptor). I don't remember where I got the idea for this, but I'm pretty sure it involved punk rock and the magazine Prehistoric Times.
