Description This photo was taken yesterday (Saturday, 22 July 2006), during a public demonstration in Melbourne, on the event of Lebanon is being attacked by Israeli Military.

People from various backgrounds (Middle Eastern, Asian, Anglo-Australian, etc), are marching down the city streets, in an attempt to protest against Israeli Military.

Many of the victims are civilians.

The Government of US, OZ, UK and few others are backing down the Israeli's Military Action.

"This is an attempt to destroy a Terrorist Organization", they said.

And we wonder
"Why so many civilians, and public infrastructures are destroyed?"
"Why Iraq are bombarded, when they only posed a mere threat, and until now, there's no weapons of mass destruction found on that region?"
"Why now Iran & North Korea is also under scrutiny?, and US is threatening them more than ever?"

"But why, when Israel Military bombing civilians, this is justified?"

Well, one can always wonder.

And one can always pray for the innocent victims, from any sides, to be safe and sound.

-----------------

This is my first attempt in portrait/photojournalism.

My big mistake yesterday: As the night before I was on a nightphotography, and set my camera to ISO 1600 - I ... uhmm, kinda missed to scale them down during this event. Not realizing it until the end. Thus, the image may be abit noisy. But I like it tho, kinda grainy film type of thing. Well, personal justification and taste I guess ...

D100
ISO 1600, 1/1000, f/5.6 at 300mm

C&C is very much welcome.

Thanks.

Ps:
-. Thanks to Acha for lending me his Nikon D100, and Reza (Eja) for his Sigma 70-300 4-5.6 APO
-. Thanks to Bluebag and jenengkuDenny for their suggestion on enhancing the contrast. Appreciate it.

"Israel Targeted UN Observers"

Israel has denied claims it deliberately targeted a UN observer post in Lebanon in a strike that killed at least two peacekeepers.

The UN Secretary-General has called on Israel to investigate what he termed the "apparently deliberate targeting'' by Israeli defence forces of a UN observer post in Lebanon, killing two peacekeepers, with two others feared dead.

Kofi Annan said Israel appeared to have struck the site deliberately.
