STOP MAKING MY DRAWINGS LOOK LIKE CRAP! Seriously, I get all proud about my latest drawing, and then you totally blow it out of the water with your stuff.
LOL, just kidding, but really, this is amazing work.

Jim Glickenhaus' car was about $4.000.000, when Eric Clapton's SP12 EC based on 458 Italia was over £3.000.000, which means $4.700.000. It's design was not much appreciated by Ferrari community when no-one said the car's worth the astronomical price. On the other side, each to his own, if Clapton wanted to throw all that pounds into the project, had fun and likes the car...why not, then?
Other SP cars known to public are Fioravanti designed SP1 based on F430, Pininfarina's P540 Superfast Aperta based on 599 GTB (SP2) and Superamerica 45, which is nothing else than tastefully modified 599 SA Aperta (said to be SP4). SP12 is rumoured to have it's name after 12-cylinder boxer type engine of Ferrari 512BB which pays homage to. Other say it's Special Project no.12. As the real number of SP cars is a top secret, who can tell? BTW one of them, probably SP5 or 6 is rumoured to be based on FXX platform

Yes, the SP12 is fitted with 4.5L V8 from 458 Italia. The engine swap for some V12 or flat 12 cylinder would cause one serious thing - new car, new crash tests, new homologation process. Same with e.g. the headlighst. Pininfarina made the tests and they were homologated (like the rims), but it seems Ferrari is not gonna do that. Why? Don't know.
I don't feel you to be eccentric. When you pay for a unique car, why should it be a mixture of Enzo, Italia and a partly custom body?
What I really dislike about the SP12 is the triple exhaust. It is so much 458 Italia part that it has nothing to do on a totally different car, no matter it's based on it.
