An entry for 's Knockout Girl's Sidekick Recruitment ContestHappy #heroineappreciationday2017 everyone!
First off, thank :iconWhite0wlsuperheroine: once again for making this happen only a year ago today and continuing to do it this year as well.
Second off, due to busy real life work loads and multiple ongoing projects (seriously, I think that I'm currently working on four of them, maybe five if I'm forgetting about one) I decided that I will announce a contest rather than writing a new story. The theme of it? If you read the title of this journal you probably already guessed that it's about sidekicks (or protégées, trainees, tactical support, whatever they prefer to call themselves nowadays) and that I have one heroine in particular that doesn't have one, Knockout Girl.
Sidekicks are heroes too after aren't they? And they seriously don't get the recognition they deserve most days, being closer along the lines of running gags than actual role models. So while I was trying to come up with an idea for today I thought, Thanks to for letting me know.

Name: Deidre Strangis

Codename: None, the focus is to be on Knockout Girl
Origin: Deciding that Knockout Girl needed better public relations after a few too many reckless acts, Terran City assigned Deidre Strangis as a "sidekick". Deidre has a background in communications and psychology and graduated summa cum laude from the local university.
Personality: Level headed and master of public relations, Deidre can spin any disaster and counter any "fake news" about Knockout Girl. Although slightly younger than Knockout Girl, Deidre is wise beyond her years, suffers no fools and will try to offer practical advice to the novice heroine. Hates wearing the costume but realizes that the costume is an important marketing tool and adds to her credibility.
Powers/Abilities: None but has learned some personal self-defense.
Weaknesses: Normal human. Will avoid any direct combat. She's there to clean up any mess afterwards, not to become part of it.
