Age: 24
Karen was a street kid from a broken home. Before she was conceived, the man who would become her father henched for the criminal mastermind Doctor Demon. Exposure to radiation altered his genes, which were passed down to his daughter. Karen's powers manifested when she was a teen; at first, she used them for petty crimes, but that all changed when she fell afoul of the supercriminal known as the Brute, who almost killed her when her powers failed to affect him. Her life was narrowly saved by the timely intervention of Ms. Miracle. The experience gave Karen a change of heart; after a probationary period, she became a full-fledged member of the Crusaders.
Powers
Super-charisma - Rumor has the psionic ability to make people automatically believe anything she says, no matter how improbable. She's discovered that her powers can be a two-edged sword, because her targets' reactions are very dependent on their interpretation of her words. Also, her powers are ineffective on anyone who doesn't understand the language she's speaking. Karen studies quite a bit with Sleuth to learn other languages, but right now she's only fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
Martial artist - because her abilities can be thwarted by anything as simple as earplugs, she’s learned hand-to-hand combat from Sleuth
