(New) Chapter 22 header for my illustrated novel, An Orthogonal Universe. Marcus runs into the Sea-Monster on his voyage to SanCullep Island.

This is a more ``cartoony'' style than my usual works. I rendered a simple fractal, then manipulated (more like mutilated) it into a sea. Given the design, a simpler color scheme seemed more fitting for the characters.

That's quite fascinating. It's as if metal and fire came to melt into waters.

(I think I had checked your website some time ago... at least it doesn ring a strong bell. But now I can't remember anymore where I had heard of it.)

Thanks for the comment

At some point I changed the title screen - but I think that was as far back as September. Maybe you remember the old version? The story itself hasn't changed, just the some of the images.

Honestly, I can't remember. It may have been before that. I'll have to take a closer look at the new version.

Love the gesture of the waves, by which the environment becomes a dynamic actor in the story.

Wonderful effects, the simple colour scheme underlines the action. The sea looks like a grasping monster.

Thanks! That was the idea Although the yellow part was intended to be an actual monster... it is open to interpretation, though.

I like your abstract and loose designing of the waves here...really makes the theme of the picture more powerful. And I like the contrast with the "orange flames".

Thanks The orange part is open to interpretation. I intended it to be the tentacles of a sea-monster, but everyone seems to have a unique interpretation.
