This is another OC of mine, Teru Kazama. Teru is Ken's closest friend and confidante. Teru's birth parents abandoned him at the same hospital where Ken was born, and when they discovered he had been abandoned, they adopted Teru to live with them, but decided to let him keep the birth name his true parents had given him. When Ken's parents were killed in the car accident, Teru was also taken in by the Hizuki family and he, Kaho and Ken all became very close friends.

Teru is always calm, collected and truthful. He's always quick to give advice to Ken and the others, and often will tell them precisely what they don't want to hear in a way that makes it seem more bearable. When the group meets Kotsu and subsequently learns more about her, Teru feels inexplicably drawn to her. He feels as though there is something misunderstood about her character and wishes to learn what that might be, much to the surprise of the others.

When in battle, Teru savors strong opponents, particularly other swordsmen, and he will fight with all his strength with a smile on his face. This tends to frighten his opponents (and sometimes his allies, too). Teru is a highly skilled swordsman and can also wield a variety of magic abilities as well, specializing in seals and wards. He favors blades made with demonic steel, which gives them a black luster that light does not reflect off of. Because of this, he has become known as "The Dark Blade" amongst Shadow Vein.
