thanx for the comment... you see a lot of these abstract models made with maya, 3dsmax, bryce and other programs of the like... they all look reasonable good... as does this one, but they never seem to have much tought or time put into them..

Woo shiney.
Those cubes remind me of squares of chocolate or maybe jelly.
As someone already said this reminds me of Eschers work.
In particular the concept of infinity,I like the way you have made it so the cubes look like they stretch on forever.
I also like the apparently random sphere suspended over it breaking up the monotony.
Great job.

So simple yet amazingly done! The b&w was a wonderful choice, I can't really think of anything more to say... *goes back to staring in awe*

I think this has great perspective both in the picture and in the reflections. Also find the reflections fascinating. There is some mystery, to me, about the source of lighting and the highlights....but I kind of like that... makes me focus and think more on this work.

ah i see now why u picked my orb deviation to comment on thought id come and try and blast one of pieces with constructive criticism but all i can find is rendered orbs so cant really fault them grr

Actually this is the only redered orb in my gallery, all the other ones are done in photoshop only. So IΒ΄ll take that as a compliment.

Wow, excellent render. The orb reflecting gives that MC Escher feel to the image. Nice.

Wonderful Render! I really do like these sorts of abstract renders, I myself hope to get Bryce one day, so watch out . Onto commenting! The overall theme and context of the image itself, while "abstract" in nature - is quite well done, I'm not really sure how one could rate the theme and contexts for such a thing, I just feel that it truly is well-done.
The refraction and reflection on the surfaces are really quite amazing, my mind sort of begins thinking that the top of the orb is a reflection of the bottom, and the bottom half is a reflection of the unseen above. Not really sure where this thought came from, oh well. The light-source's position is slightly confusing to me, in the orb, Okay, but wouldn't that bathe the surface of the "ground" with pure white light, per se?
Anyhow, all in all, good stuff. Bravo!

The black and white deffinately "makes" the picture, on this occasion colour would have taken away the sense of wonder the picture gives you.

Took me to figure out what exactly was going on with the refractions! Keep up the good work.
