I think the colouring looks pretty darn good in this. The background isn't smudgy so much as it has visible brush strokes, which work well in this piece. Plus you managed to do really well with the sandy background. It looks very sandy. XD

I am glad you find the coloring good..I just realized now that the beach looks like a dead lake, it lacks of wave to make it alive..(sigh)Anyway I am still learning how to paint..so I will draw and color more so I can create a better piece..Thanks you so much! Your comments make me happy!
