I realize that I never actually showed Robin receiving Roxanne's badge. That's something I kind of want to go back and fix.

What kind of life did Vigil had for him to be disappointed that he wasn't going to be murdered or enslaved and what kind of game is that machoke playing and can I get in on that?
To me the most impressive thing about this page is the interacting speech bubble between Vigil and Trumpet. Goes to show that pokemon that use sound don't always mix together.

I've been a silent reader since the beginning but, let me just say how I love your world building!
You take the stuff from the games, like buying items and going to certain areas with enough badges, and make it part of their everyday life, as a real RULE.
In theory I've had a similar train of though, but mostly with the status in society via badges (as that the league challenge is once in a life time only, and how far you go, aka the gyms you beat before game over, give you the status which then leads where you can work and live etc.) Also, the way the gyms have different teams for each badge match (i.e Roxanne can be your 1st, 3rd or the last gym) is rather unique, I think you were one of the first ppl to use that idea... Love it! (Love everything in this nuz tbh)
Can't wait to see your take on more of the game's logic and how it is to be a trainer, keep it up! (:

Ah thank you, I'm so glad you've been liking the worldbuilding! I always found the weird restrictions and quirks of the games to be fascinating, and find it fun to see how/why those kinds of things might exist in a more 'real' setting.

I agree, finding the logic in the game's odd decisions (i.e why you can't just go some places before hand) is quite fun.
Also, your solution gives a perfect reason for the league challenge; you don't HAVE to do it but how difficult will your life get without? It is also nice to see pokemon react to it and understand the situation instead you just 'I might die, but this friendship caused by stockholm syndrome keeps me going!!'
I mean, the team might not like what's going on, enslavement and all, but they know what it's like to just survive and that's why mostly get it why people do what they do.

If it was me, I'd use the opening up of a past/backstory as a way to initiate his evolution into Crobat through finally deciding to trust Robin. That's assuming he makes it that far.
Love the little detail of Whismur and Zubat's sounds colliding and causing issues with both. It's a nice little detail and makes total sense for why there are no Zubat in Rusterf Tunnel.

I'm really enjoying Trumpet's interrogation of Talon about human badge mechanics and society and things. It is neat to see her trying to comprehend the weird pointless structures of civilization as she encounters them.

Kind of sucks for the Zubat that the badge toll only keeps rookie trainers out. That cave is the only place on the island to grind. Can you imagine a trainer with two badges going in there with their level 37 Manetric for some pre-gym murder training?

I love the little details, like the struggles Trumpet has both trying to comprehend gyms and trying to explain Steven. I adore it when animal (or Pokemon) behavior is threaded into the worldbuilding details, and so things like sonar interference between two species makes me grin. Nicely done on this page. That Zubat is super cute, too.

I've never seen a Zubat looking that adorable. I just LOVE how you draw animals, you have such a unique sensibility and way of depicting them! It feels so rooted in real biology (and given what I've seen you draw of other real-life Earth animals, you definitely have such a great understanding of anatomy) but then the way you simplify/stylize its features is just so unique and cute! I want to hug it!!!

I really like that slow realization Talon has about badges. It's cool worldbuilding and shows the start of some character development.
