In Alterity the word 'civilization' always refers to just one group: the League-led society that most humans belong to. A lot of Pokemon societies could be considered technically 'civilizations' but they don't use that term for themselves.

I work together with Sinnfinity on this comic, I just haven't been putting the notifications up as of late... I made most of the plot but Sinnfinity helps with the dialogue (especially the humor).

I can't decide if this is funny or sad, but damn, I really love the artwork in this and this is probably the best one of these I've ever read.

In all seriousness, I think that's a couple shades too dark for a normal breloom, but that's pretty much the exact shade I used on the Shiny Breloom I just drew. Still, they're only a few shades of gray different.
Because of this comic, I went and looked up Whismur's evolution line again, and HOOLLEESHII-! While Exploud (Who is one of the most badass-looking pokemon that I've ever forgotten about) has been somewhat underwhelming in previous generations, (though learning great TMs like Ice Beam and Flamethrower) in Gen 6 it gains BoomBurst. A 140 BP STAB Normal-type Special Attack.
Long story Short: I want one. XD Even if I have to suffer through the awkward Loudred phase. (Which I'm curious as to how you'll draw. Hopefully little Clairon survives to make it to Exploud level, though. She's already pretty amazing.)
Geeking out aside, the art continues to be fantastic, and because of this run, I've put both Ruby and Emerald on my list of games to play through again.
(I think I'll nuzlocke Ruby as a comic, and play Emerald for fun and XY dex-filling.)
Dante is just too cute, and believe it or not, I love the way you draw heavier-set humans. Not everyone's a twig or underwear model, but they're not purposefully made grotesque, either. They're just humans. And that's fantastic.
I know it's been talked about before, but I personally haven't given my opinion on it yet: making Brendan heavier-set as well, while a risky move... You've handled it exceptionally. You've made him a person, and you've made him /smart./ (Smarter than Robin, in any case.) You didn't make him the butt of jokes, or the standard 'Overweight Doofus', like one could argue that Gen 6's Teirno is.
I've even forgotten at some points that there was a design change made; I've been so wrapped up in the characters and the story that it doesn't matter. And that's a great thing to have happen, when you've changed an 'official' design to something that could be considered controversial.
I'm just going fanboy at this point, so I'm just gonna say that despite my initial rockiness with the series, I think you've handled everything exceptionally, including my own earlier criticisms.

Yes, Exploud is a BEAST with Boomburst! I hope he ends up seeing more use, especially now that his stats have been buffed in X/Y.
And thank you! I'm actually pretty surprised that nobody's brought up objections about Brendan yet. Maybe they just do it among their own groups instead of where I can see? He's been the butt of a few snide comments in-comic but I tried to phrase them in such a way that it's obvious the speaker is being a huge jerk.

I'll be breeding up a Fake Tears Exploud as soon as I can get one of these Larvestas to Shine for me. -Motions to over a box of competitive spread 5IV Larvestas- So many of these little guys, it's ridiculous. And this is just what I haven't Wonder Traded away.
And after thinking about it, I realized why I like your drawing style for heavier-set characters so much. It reminds me a lot of the movie Lilo and Stitch, which was one of my favorites growing up. It's slightly more apparent on Brendan, as well, because of his rounder nose.

I agree. But Sammy's right, they can't fight civilization. It would be like putting a domestic dog into the wild. Off topic: I would LOVE to see a Mightyena so bad. They're just awesome and for some reason I always thought they were wolves. But about 2 years ago I find out that they are Hyena's. Will we ever get an actual wolf Pokemon?! Electrike and Manectirc don't count for me, they only look like dogs to me.

It is a real shame isn't it! Arcanine is probably my closest guess though it's kinda based more on a Foo Dog. Though, I dunno, both Mightyena and Poochyena are both designed extremely wolf-like. If their names were different I wouldn't even guess they were supposed to be based off hyenas.

I am not sure I said it yet, but this comic is the best friggen thing out there ever. From the artstyle, to the way the pokemon world is portrayed, to the grand story, just everything. I love the tension built up here and this comic always keeps me on the edge.

The way dante just ACCEPTS that pokemon should be powerless to humans, like its a fact they can do whatever and pokemon live to serve just breaks my heart
