If you want a 'better' image of it, go to the clapperboard icons. There are four of them. The first one allows you to see the rendered picture (note: the background of the rendered picture will appear as black by default), the second allows you to render the current frame (for example, if you moved your camera to get another angle, it will render that picture), the third one allows you to render it as how Maya 'sees' it, and the last one are the options (you can change them if you want to, like if you want the image to be saved in .png or .gif with a resolution of 9x60 x 580 or whatever).

Once satisfied with the picture, you can save it: File>Save image.
