Description Arrrggghghghghg my first attempt at an adoptable...I don't know if I even like this style. I'll have to fiddle around with brushes and stuff next time, but I do like this fella. I think I will make more creatures like this one soon.


Anyhow, this is my first adoptable so I want it to be worthwhile -Β 

Please, no bids under 20 I am already hesitant about parting with him/her.

Adoptable, sounds interesting... I like the 'simplicity' that this image (adoptable) holds. The piercing look on the Deer-Owl's face as it almost looks into the soul of the person viewing this.
This piece almost could be mistaken as an illustration for any child's story/novel, it's got a soft feel to it, the technique you have used here is fantastic. The colour change from the light brown to the purple for the mane is gorgeous. I love the soft hint of light that is reflecting off the beak of the face too.
Overall I'll be surprised if no one does adopt this guy/gal. It's gorgeous, from a critique point of view, the only thing I would say that could improve this is shading, you have the light hitting the beak but there are elements of shadow that I feel would improve the '3D' aspect a little more... but again, FANTASTIC, job! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Thank you so much for the critique, Lee! I'm glad you thought the soft tones and color choices worked - a light, pastel palette was exactly what I was going for. I will definitely take your advice on shading and giving it a more 3D feel for the next adoptable I make! Much appreciated.
