Now that is just badass. Luckily that weapon is semi-auto. Doesn't matter who you are moving aircraft with possible moving target = tough shot.

I wouldn't mind getting that kind of training in though, Hooah.

I really like the photos from you, but I feel I should ask just in case; is it ok to post up this much information about location and detachment and such? I'm guessing these are old enough pics to be safe but I figured I would check. And since there seems to be multiple photographers I'm thinking this might be a military-run account.

Awesome, always cool to see what the troops are doing. That leaves me with a good question, what are they doing in this photo? Looks like some cool arctic training.

Awesome picture. Beautiful background and a very cool weapon. However, the thing that pleases me most is probably the thing most people don't even notice; Finger OFF the trigger. A real pro doesn't touch that trigger until he is ready to kill something.

very nice photo but wouldn't it be dangerous firing from the chopper as the expelled shells can hit the tail rotor ? or is he using some kind of brass catcher or am i just strait up wrong ?

Very cool, but isn't it dangerous to hold a .50 rifle like that, I seem to remember they have recoil like no other

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

SocialOutlaw In reply to theJazza [2012-06-23 17:29:10 +0000 UTC]

Take another look , it appears that the cargo strap is looped around the ( front hand grip?)
just in front of the magazine , but at the very least that part is resting on the cargo strap ,
adding to it's stability .

Uhh, no. They don't. It's comparable to a .30-06 rifle.

CadianConcript [2012-06-23 14:24:39 +0000 UTC]

Nice photo. But, is it possible to shoot accurately like that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Karinosai In reply to CadianConcript [2012-06-23 17:22:11 +0000 UTC]

Given that you know what you're doing, yes it is. It's not as practical as shooting with a rifle that's been bolted to a concrete block, no, but the only extra variable you really need to account for is the velocity of the helicopter. But that's why they're training, because it sure as hell isn't easy.
