Description Two baby spiny mice, only a couple days old. These guys are born with hair, ears open, eyes partially open, and able to scoot around.

The spiny mouse only has between 1-3 babies per litter, and I have personally had a litter of 4 born once, although 2 is the average. I breed satin, cream, white spot, and wild agouti.

This adorable. I've had spiny mice since about October last year. I thought I had all males. Just within the past week, I had a surprise. Not all males! Now there are two litters and it looks like another is on the way :/ I'm not sure why they've just started breeding. The first litter had two and the second just one. I'd love to get other colors of them.

Hi, I found mice in the side of my house, eyes not open, but look like this. The mother got scared away, what should I do?

The mother will generally come back for her young. Many wild animals that people suspect are orphaned are often really not. Keep an eye on them. I suppose if the mother doesn't return, you could try to get them to a wildlife rehabilitator.

Thanks, we waited for the mother to come back, but she didn't. So we took them to the nearest SPCA to be youthenized. Thanks anyway

In that case, why not let nature take it's course? If it were me, I would have left them alone or found a rehabber.

The mother never came home and they were overheating. I didn't want them to cruely die, so we put them down so the death wouldn't be so painful and slow.

I see, well that is very caring. Probably very hard to rehab anyway since they are so very small.
