Yeah, that batch have all passed on.. My current rats honestly don't have names, and they all look almost identical. I have an older female I bought because I felt bad (I went in to a crappy pet store to buy some frozen mice, I normally get them online but was low. A customer came in with a bunch of rats wanting them to find homes, and of course this place told them they couldn't guarantee they'd not be sold as feeders... and this place has a high volume of feeder rats come in at all times) and she wound up being pregnant. So I now have a huge cage made up of three ferret nations stuck together into a larger cage for the girls, and a smaller cage for the only two boys in her entire litter.

Very cool setup, so question... when you used to sew the fleece pads what did that involve? was it simply two sheets of fabric or did you have a inside filling/layer cause hopefully I'm getting rats soon and that seems like it would be alot better than aspen or shredded paper? is it? sorry lots of questions, again very lucky rats ^_^

What kind of pads do you use for the bedding? That appears much easier to clean than paper.

I sew fleece pads myself, buying the fleece from Joann's fabrics. The fleece is thrown in the washing machine every few days, and I have plenty of backup.
Honestly this cage doesn't exist anymore.. I only have two girl rats now, as those boys have passed on. I have since put the two girls in a martin's 680 and my ferret nations (yes, plural) were built into a 3 by 2 large cage for my three prairie dogs.

Alright! I have to get this answer covered. Where do you rat owners get floor liners for your pets? Do you make them or something.... cause I really want some for my rats. Their cage is very dull.

Many of us make them, or buy them. I made my own until my sewing machine broke a couple months ago...... usually you can buy lots of fleece when it's on sale at joanne's, and stock up!

This is what would happen if I won the lottery. ^^
And I thought MY rats were spoiled!
They live in a ferret cage as well, but not a fancy Marshall or FN. Just a SuperPet one. They're hardly ever in their cage so it's really just a place to sleep, or to stay when I'm gone.
I have a feeling that if I did something like this for them, they wouldn't even want to come out to play. xD
I have two. Ozzy my baby boy, and Vegas my heart rat. The best pets ever. I really want to buy this 6 week old baby I saw yesterday. Black-eyed white! I may have 3 boys soon. Heh.
