Description

Currently, the largest canvas I've worked on and a difficult one. Started at it with a sketched background of the arch directly behind Monifa. Imported the sketch to sai, fleshed it out, added Monifa, then stretched the sketch to something larger for inking. My sai program fought tooth and nail through the process. It crashed a few times, froze more times than I can count. It may not look to the person seeing it an overly complicated piece, but for me it was one of the more difficult ones.

I tackled many elements in this from a full background to the colors, shading, and attempt at texture. Monifa herself wasn't overly difficult once I decided on a pose. What gave me the most grief in her was her hair and making her dress lay like it does.
