Ffff!I like this one for the most part. I kinda wish I did more with it though =/
Either way, I've never drawn anything quite like this befores so sorry if it sux ._.
Whatever though, it's baby Giegue with Maria =w=

For clarification, it's not that Giegue turns into Giygas. Giegue is his Japanese name, so he's called that even in Mother 2 (Earthbound). Therefore, you either call him Giygas or Giegue, but don't change it. Giygas was the same before and after (well, in name only of course). His story is truly tragic, and honestly what drew me to the series. I had to begin with Mother 1, and I just dished out $126 last summer on Ebay to get a real Earthbound cartridge. (Now it's averaging about $180-$250.) But yeah, Giygas was forced to undergo this task of desensitizing himself in order to carry out the mission of wiping out his parents' planet's inhabitants. The 8 Melodies, the song Maria used to sing to him, drew out those memories he tried so hard to suppress. He became what he was in Mother 2 because he was torn between the emotions of love he had for his parents and his duty. It's so tragic...

Giegue is what they called him in the English translation of Mother 1 but they changed his name to Giygas when they translated Mother 2. Not sure why they did that but whatever *shrug*
Yeah that game is getting mad pricey unfortunately. I got mine from a friend for $60. He bought it back when it was $80.
Either way I found Mother 1 a hard place to start cause the game was so awkwardly put together in terms of the difficulty curve and the map.
And yeah he's certainly a tragic character. I really seem to tend towards those characters for whatever reason.

i never played the mother games but i know everything about them and the story of giygas and maria broke my heart. they are the cutest mother and son pair ever. good job

Very difficult to play, believe me. You'd have to get a ROM and emulator.
Anyway, yeah it's a sad story. Everyone's always crying over Lucas from Mother 3 but there are other characters who deserve some...crying over D|

i was gonna buy a snes and the game on ebay when i am older. i thought lucas's story was sad but giygas was much more traumatized. so he needs the love *hugs giygas* i once saw a giyas plushie on ebay and i went "OMG GIYGAS I'LL BE YOUR MARIA!!!" XD

Well yeah you could do that...but it's mad expensive. EarthBound goes for around 80-100 bucks.
And that one isn't even the one that mentions the whole backstory of Giygas. That's in EarthBound Zero...which if you wanna play English you'd need a ROM |D ;
But yeah, Giygas' story is very sad.

An alien, raised by Maria (the woman on the pic), it(always seen it as a 'he') later turned into Giygas.
Not quite sure, have to check everything on Wikipedia. Theres enough info on there.
