Description I gots me my new character! I decided to eschew the druid option and go for a Fighter Cleric of Corellon Larethian. Funniest thing by far? She's 5000 years old.... (long story! She's been asleep for a loooong time...)

Drawn this afternoon because my computer kept crashing all morning (I was trying to work) and I got annoyed - ended up sketching and colouring whilst watching the Ninth Gate and Dagon. Meh, I was in an occultish mood...

I could have taken a hell of a lot longer over this and made it much, much better.... but I didn't - yay for laziness and general slap-dashery! He hands are on her knee (not that it's easy to tell!) See? I'm trying to gets hands in eveywhere - it's good practice (umm, said the nun to the bishop... ).

4 hours - coloured pencils with lazy pastel background.

Ah so this is Lia's color scheme. Lovely choice of purple Fighter clerics are my favorite class! There's nothing like being able to heal AND hold your own to break the weak little frail healer stereotype.

Lia goes through so many colour schemes... but yeah, I think this is basically it (she's a bog-standard elf, so the black hair was a given, really. She was going to have green eyes (elven standard), but blue seemed more striking. I couldn't make her appearance too unusual, because he background (as decided by my DM, not me!!) is odd enough - she was found in the dungeon the rest of the party are trapped in. And since the last time the dungeon was opened was 5000 years ago... yep - she is indeed over 5000 years old. She doesn't know what humans are (they weren't around when she was last out in the open!), can't speak common and follows a very archaic (read strict!) code of 'what it is to be an elf'... no influence from humans = she's a tad odd. Although she is learning some very bad habits from the rest of the (near enough completely male - she was the 'only chick in the party' until our 1/2orc monk got killed, now we have a female halfling monk to replace him) party...

I find coloured pencils the easiest medium to work woth by far. Having already destroyed one sketch whilst attempting to paint it, I decided to stick to what I know! Her hair was a lot of fun (hmmm, nice creamy pencils make highlighting fun!), even if I did get black every where... *whistles innocently*

I love her expression, and there's a deep sense of mystery in her eyes. I love the details of the piece, and the nail colour seems to mirror that of the eyes so beautifully.

Thank you very much! I actually wish I'd made her left (right?!?) eye a little smaller, it looks a bit over sized. Oh well... she isn't supposed to be human!

Thank you! I do love adding tattoos to my characters, and since she follows Corellon, I thought the cresent moon was perfect.

Oh! She looks so cool! I absolutely loooooove the long black hair. And the tattoos are awesome...combine the tattoos with the hair and... This is just awesome, I love it. Her hands are great too, you've come so far with drawing hands! No more hiding them that's for sure. And they are in such a complex pose here too, I think I would have lost patience and just stabbed my eyes out before I'd be able to draw hands like that, hehe. They just look really really good, ya even got the little wrinkles on the knuckles and everything. Soooooo good!

Thank you! Her eye (left... right... bugger... it's the one closest to us!) is too big... I noticed it as soon as I posted it. Funny, though, it doesn't look quite so oversized in the original picture - dunno what happened there! Her hair was fun ( but did leave black smudge-marks all over the page, hence the green pastel background... ) - nice creamy pencils meant highlighting was easy . Her hands.. hmmm... hands... well, I tried. They weren't easy... but if I don't practise, I won't learn (blargh! Still hate 'em, though!)

I really like the tattoos you gave her! Very pretty. What kind of chalk pastels do you have/use. I need to get my hands on them, but can't find them anywhere! Anyway, you've done her ears perfectly, and the shading on her face.. I need to learn how to do it that well! Her eyes are a bit exaggerated, but that's not a bad thing, fits well

I use bog standard ones I found in a discount art / bookstore for rough stuff and some Derwent pastel pencils for detailed stuff (which I didn't use here - I used bog standard Derwent pencils here ). I like pastels, but I know a lot of people hate them!

Thank you! As soon as I posted I noticed the eye thing, and now it's bugging me. It doesn't look quite that huge in the original picture (well, obviously it *does*, I just didn't notice it so much!). Still, she's not human, so that's my excuse...

Thank you! Personally, I wish I'd made her eyes a little smaller - they're a bit on the old 'big and slightly mad' side but nevermind... I kind of got a bit lost in my own world again and didn't realise!
