Nope, never read it. Though, this was brought up over on Elfwood, as well.

I can guess that Mercedes Lackey used Romani words/phrases in her books The title is the Roma designation for a 'sister related by blood'. Very obscure source, indeed, but it is a real word. I often use Roma, Polish or Latin to title works. Just an odd coincidence.
