Question about the depth of blur. How do you accomplish that? Photoshop? I'm really interested in practicing this.

Yeah with this painting, I used very soft brushes, except for areas of focus.

There are many ways in dealing with that. You can approach using soft round brushes, or set the Background, middleground and foreground in separate layers and add lens blur where appropriate. You could also use the Blur tool for precision.

So it's not a single flat image with only a depth of field effect applied to a specific radius. Very interesting. Now, reading this, I go back to your image and see where you probably used soft round brushes to create the effect of blurry context. Very cool.
