*looks around* Seems to be safe here. I don't think my opponent's here.Anyway, this is my Bio Cup 2012 Finals entry against ~Greeblimus and Nick V (I don't know whether Nick has a da account)
The theme was to make our very best creation to date and on my behalf I feel successful. This definitely is one of my best works what comes to the size, structure, detail and functionality.
The round's still on for 1 more week, so I only put this moc only for now to be seen here, as I don't want Nick V to see what I've done yet to improve his own entry, whether or whether not it'll be similar.
This guy's called Vertigus. He is of the species called colossus, whose concept I created a few years ago. I've planned a bit of a background for him, but that'll be on the actual mocpages upload later this week. Colossus' are some of my favorite moc types to build, the experience never seems to fail me and this is my 6th colossus to date.
I definitely hope I will do better this time in the finals. Wish me luck!

Thats amazing. Where do you get parts to create such a beastly model? Can someone point me to a link? I know nothing about these but they are insanely fascinating, and look extremely fun to put together, it is no doubt an art form to be able to build one of these from scratch. Great work!

I used to collect the Lego Bionicle series through the years of its existence and these days possess over 100 of the sets. To get a better collection of parts I began using Bricklink. It's an excellent site to get lego parts.
I can guarantee, building these IS fun and definitely a less respected form of art.

Wow, I totally recognized the style of lego but couldn't remember what it was called, I had a few Bionicle sets myself, and they were fun as hell! Thats awesome man, thanks a lot for the info, I am definitely going to check that site out and get some! It is indeed an under rated form of art.

As easily as I do all my other works. It all begins with a simple idea or two - in this case, his torso structure, spike-collar-thing and the wrist weapons - which I base the creation on and then expand to the rest of the bodyparts through experimenting and also utilizing ideas that come along the way. With enough of idea flow, I can finish a moc like this in 2 days.

Storywisely he's not evil, but everyone in his society thinks he's ambitious and willing to challenge their current leader. He unfortunately manages to feed that image through some of his behavior, while at the same he's the leader's apprentice. His outlook is also a factor feeding the unwanted false image.

Very impressive moc! I love the detailing of it as a character!
I can also tell how you constructed almost all of him/it, and I must say I like all of his designs!
However as far as complexity by itself is concerned, I'm not really feeling it for the upper legs.

Btw, each foot for my self moc revamp that I'm getting the parts for to complete, has just over 60 pieces. How many does yours have for each one? [Just curious.]

The thighs are definitely the weak point of this moc. Funny though, they're actually more complex than the lower legs, which just happen to look quite smooth.
A foot on this guy is... I didn't count that accurately, but I'd say somewhere about 40-50 pieces. The design ain't too complex, but holds certain nostalgia by using one of my old ideas.

For my OC's revamp I have completely dismantled his original version [[link] and am making him at least twice as tall and infinitely more epic, while still looking like himself. And unlike the original version he will be mainly black with the only color being the secondary on of which is translucent dark blue [With his black hole staff being an exception.].
His design will be entirely custom in every way. His entire body will also have a skeleton like structure. His torso's skeleton is quite complex since it has sections with both three and four layers of many different thin technic pieces. his torso skeleton alone has over 200 pieces at the moment, and its not even finished.
I have finally figured out the extent of all of his powers that he gets from having complete knowledge of and control over anything to do with black holes.

After the Bio Cup's over I will also revamp my own OC + am planning to create a representative to every single type of his species and combine it all into a species biography. My studies will slow me down, but we'll see how it comes.

Man if only I had studies to slow me down instead of getting only a small amount of money each week that I have to save up for each bricklink order.
I've applied for jobs at over 25 places that were hiring and none of them even wanted an interview. I would gladly work in order to get money. [If I had a job I'd be able to send out awesome mocs all of the time instead of the pathetic stuff I've done so far.]
