Description
These are the 40th, 41st, and 42nd MechOwlies that I have created, named Boa, Abo, and Oba - triplets! Most of my MechOwlies are very neutral in colour with splashes of colour, but I really wanted to play with bright and bold colours. Kind of Mardi Gras colours, actually. They are all similar in design with slight variations on their tummy gears and eye colours. They all went to different homes.
Although this creature looks to be made from metal, it is not - it is completely hand-sculpted from polymer clay with the addition of a few metal findings. This piece has been glazed with a satin finish for a slight sheen and durability.

I've just discovered you today after being featured on a CRArtisanCrafts journal. Your MechOwlies are absolutely awesome!!! May I ask do you used coloured clay or do you paint your pieces after baking?

Thank you so much! ^_^ I actually use silver polymer clay and then brush the raw clay with the preferred base colour in mica powder. After it's baked, it gets a patina and I add extra details with contrasting colours of mica powder mixed with polyurethane.
