This is something I do very rarely - something I should do more often. Which is to say, draw something for the story it tells rather than just for the sake of drawing a character.Oh! Uh, this is my "real" fanart for Bittersweet Candy Bowl, [link] an awesome webcomic. I realize it's a bit messy, but I liked the effect it created so there.
I know what you're saying. "WHY ARE ALL YOUR FANARTS FOR THIS COMIC ABOUT SAD FACES". The answer is that until the plot moves along I refuuuuuse to unsadface the characters. It'd be WRONG. D:

im also a fan of this webcomic, always eager to see moar updates, i think all the fanart from this particular webcomic can have just any face and still be right XD, sad, smile, omgwtfpie and so on XD

XD. I'm not normally one for drawing saaaaaaaaaad stuff but that scene a few chapters back made a big impression on me. Much as seeing Paulo get into trouble is funny, I'm dying over here waiting for the story to get back to Lucy and Mike. XDD
Lucy can be so ridiculously vulnerable on those rare occasions... for five seconds before she beats people down. Poor Mike.

I love how one of the bubbles of thought is a heart, and squeeee it's so fuzzy! I like that effect, it's all cloudy and nice. Her thoughts are lighting up the room!!

I didn't expect it so soon either! XDD. I honestly was just futzing around with brushes in photoshop and this ended up appearing. I feel like it kinda came naturally!

Squeee ;___; Well I always try to be observant, since a lot of time and care tends to be put for the fanarts I get. It's the least I could do to kind of engulf it in and try to see what the artist was trying to do! So yeah ;.;!!

I'm still kinda coming down from the "wauuugh drawing a lot" high right now but I could thank you into eternity for your comic and being such a great fanart target. Spending a day or two drawing fun little things for you is nowhere near repayment for the inspiration I've gotten out of this.

The comic seems to be in a conflictual sink hole, with no signs of stopping in the current chapter. Oh Paulo...
Makes me wonder when the next uplift will happen...and HOW it will happen.

True as that may be I hold out eternal hope. Besides, I think there's a lot of hints that this storyline is just as much about LUCY and Paulo as it is about Paulo and Every Girl He Is Trying To Go Out With. Rebound drama ahoooy XD

Perhaps...there is the chance that he'll snap out of it right on the brink line. If he does, then the rise will occur at that moment. If he doesn't...well...I wonder how much more this sinkhole can dig itself.

I love the effect you've used here. It isn't sketchy or unrefined at all, it just has this warm fuzzy feeling to it that gives it this illustration-y feel. The messy lines and contours make it feel less 'cut and copy' than it otherwise would.
Compared to a lot of your other works, it's nice to see some 'human made' images.
