This reminds me of a sci-fi novel from the 1950s called "The Well of the Worlds". The entire world was based on these floating, rising, falling expanses of land. I particularly like the colors in the background. That touch of purple makes it softer, like a sunset.

I like your interpretation.
The drawing also attempt sto question the relationship between the self, perhaps "the mind," and the body. Is there a separation or are both one and the same. Often the mind can overcomes the body and one can escape from pain or any other "bodily feeling."

i love the fact that the figure (man) looks like hes trying to seperate himself from the pain on the right side of the drawing.this is really good!
