"The Truth" is definitely one of the best books. I also love pretty much all the City Watch books. Sam Vimes is my top favorite literature character EVER!

I've only read Mort so far, it was a Christmas gift, and I LOVED IT. Like one of the best things I've read. I do plan on reading the rest, it's just finding the time.
Funnily enough the person who gave it to me wrote on the inside 'Imagine what it'd be like to have this job!?' And then I got up to the bit where Mort's mucking out the horse stable. At this point I decided the job wasn't for me. Too much horse shit.

I think I'll probably try to read them all, but it's a matter of when I'll get the time. Thank you for the recommendations though.

Gaaah, this is me too. Especially since it's so RARE for me to run into people who like these books! (I'm an American teenager, and these books aren't really aimed at American teenagers.) I think there's only been about three times that I've happened to run into people who already knew about this series. And even then, nobody had read all forty books as many times as I have. Sigh...

I actually prefer the 'Witches" line of Sir Pratchett's books but like reading most of them. Rincewind bothers me a bit. He has the tendency to be whiny.
I remember when the original Elfquest comics were coming out and my parents had to buy them for me because the book-store in our town considered them to be r-x rated. Those old ones are gently and gingerly packed away and properly cared for. The reading copies are the big hard bounds....I should re-read them again. It's been more than awhile......good idea! thanks!

Yes indeed, the Trio or Foursome, do make me comfortable and I often take either the Witch Series or the off-shoot of the Tiffany Aching books. I laughed so hard at the first one! There's a hardback illustrated one out you can look for if you don't have it.
Yes, my Parent were awesome (my Mother is now deceased) and I am in my early 50's. They would buy me not only "Elfquest" but "Heavy Metal" and "Epic". That was the time when those comic were still good and didn't have as much soft core porn in them. I was just annoyed that some of them came out in 3 month schedules and some in two. I can read very quickly and a lot of my "monthly budget" was spent on either comics or books depending but there was another thing my Parents never censored -- Library books. There were a couple of books that the librarian pointed out to them but they said if she wants to read them fine. I'm still patronising my Local Library. I figure my fines alone should keep them going!

Was originally for fun but we decided to do it for Alzheimer's research UK. Everyone has to come in costume. Themed food, games (Dragon egg hunt, pin the tail on binky, luggage lucky dip). Also having a quiz and raffle

Yeah, I am... can't say the same for the people around us, my mum included. She didn't read the Disc books and just rools her eyes whenever we fight over them. Some time ago, my parents were cleaning the house and organizing the books and sending them to their owners. When it came to the Disc books, my mum said that the Prachett books, naturaly, go to my brother, to which my father and I shouted "No way!" and started arguing who those books belong to. My mother just rolled her eyes at us and said "Whatever, you figure it out."
