Here's another version of the one in my scraps. Now, I'll encourage critiques, but considering this is my first time doing anime, lineart AND inking, be gentle. This was one big experiment. But seriously, tell me if you think of ways I can improve.This is Ryoko Mitsurugi and Shizuma Kusanagi from the manga/anime Real Bout High School. Good, action-y manga, absolutely terrible, stupid anime. Don't watch it. But still, I am so convinced that this is what SHOULD'VE happened! The manga sets these two up so perfectly, but then the anime completely fails at life! I can't even express my disappointment.

Most manga-to-anime attempts do not turn out pretty, but it's one of the worst examples I've ever seen.

Hands-down, best manga to anime is FMA: Brotherhood. Granted, they had to do the whole thing over again to get it right, but still totally worth it.

I love FMA , and i really do agree. it was worth watching again on brotherhood. not to mention the voice acting on dubbed on English and Japanese was good

I know, right? I kinda flipped out when I found out they would be doing an anime true to the manga. I have a friend, though, that has seen the first FMA, but doesn't know anything about the manga, so she doesn't really care to watch Brotherhood. I'm like, "NOOOOOOOO! You don't know what you're MISSING!!" Don't get me wrong, I love the first anime, but Brotherhood is SO MUCH BETTER!!

I like it because the story is so much deeper and reaches out to a much farther extent. It's got a greater reach of influence and importance, making what the characters do matter so much more. And I like all the extra characters, like General Armstrong and Ling. XD

I love the pic! I was so excited about the anime but I didn't get at my house and they took it off of youtube so I went out and bought the last three episodes used. That was a waste of $8.
but they did have some very cute moment. The ending in the books almost leads right into the anime. You see just a little bit of the really big dude from the anime (the one that beat the shit out of Shizuma) and the weird stone thingy.

My friends and I (after finishing the manga we borrowed from another friend) found the anime on Youtube (before they pulled it off) but when it became painfully obvious that they weren't staying true to the manga, I walked out. My friend finished it anyway, waiting for this to happen, but it never did, she said. So I had to get my fix some other way, even if I had to draw it. ^_^

I bought the last three episodes looking forward to the kiss but it never happened. If you read the 6th book you can see that really big dude (the one that beat Shizuma) and the werid stone thing.
I wanted a kiss in the end of the manga but if your in the middle of a fight I guess your not going to kiss.

They did confess their love though. That was good enough for me in the tone of the plot. I figured once they got THAT outta the way, then a kiss was bound to happen in the anime. Grrrrr. NO.

Thank you! Glad you liked it. It seems like this isn't a particularly popular manga, so it surprises me when someone faves this picture. A pleasent surprise, that is.
I actually started the anime, but then I got sick of it and I had work to do anyway, but my friend watched the entire series, just because she was hoping THIS would happen. She was disappointed but was able to warn me off. I didn't have to suffer too much.

meh. i suggest maybe watching the first episode on youtube.com if you are absolutely too curious to ignore it completely, but i'll be honest; they pretty much play the manga over again with a magical realm added in, for some reason. and when i say play the manga over, i mean, it's supposed to pick up where the manga left off, but then they bring back whats-his-name (the kendo club pres) and suddenly ryoko is swooning over him again, like shizuma never happened. and the magical realm? ryoko finds this necklace that transports her to this realm where she has to fight a nasty beastie, but in the end, they never explain the point behind the thing. kinda ticked me off, really.
