I LOVE this shot, and it isn't "brutal" at all, for one, there is no blood, only the rich red colour that is left behind, and this doesn't even look brutal, it is a VERY clean cut. I love the richness, nothing "dirty" or "clumsy" about this shot, it is all very "by-the-book" and the range of colours make this an outstanding piece of work. Bravo!
But I must ask you... Did you photoshop this at all? Come on... Be honest

I only use photoshop to make a frame, and a little contrast- and saturation-correction - so the colours are original.
