This actually started off with me trying to do a portrait like Francis Bacon. A mottled back ground, a little pink and green...but it didn;t wor and in anger I smeared the paint with my brush...and with a few more dabs added, this emerged.I'm actually not this disturbed, only by accident.

It seems colder, icier, rainier, than a Francis Bacon painting. Were you using acrylic? I love this painting. If you ever do another one~ maybe a meatier paint would pull off what you wanted originally~!

Thanks! This painting was done in oils, actually, that really lended itself to the running texture along the top.

Having been plagued by night terrors since I was a kid I can actually say that this face is very similar to the ones I would see in my dreams.

Beautiful. I love how it seems like whatever this thing is is dwelling behind the subconscious, slowly coming out of the dark of the unknown. Night terrors are a horrible thing, and I can see how this could be something a person could see in going through that. Fantastic job.

I like the teeth smear cause it reminds me of dental x-rays
And I'd guess I think those are cooler than a lot of people
