amazing work!
the concept here is stunning
i like the multi-cultural background of it, finally some anti-racial art!
great framing, the light comes from a good angle, but i'd done it more from a side, to get more dept into this shot, though, that's just a personal view^^
the colours are good, nothing distracts from the actual subject, and your right, it is self explanatory, the western cultures are mostly represented by women with blond hair and blue eyes, and the arabic cultures with guys with short back hair/beard and brown eyes
fantastisch work!

I love this. The toning is subtle, but raw at the same time & it feels so intimate.

i wanted to present a general message more so than a personal one. i think the ambiguity of not seeing our faces adds to the emotiveness of the image and makes the viewer focus more on the idea than the people in the shot.

I really enjoy this piece, you're right the piece is very self- explanatory. I'm so happy that you tackled an issue that a lot of people (At least people I know) believe to be dead.
I love the passion and the chemistry, between you and your friend. Having most of your faces helps the viewer pay more attention to the issue at hand.
One thing I have a love hate relationship with is the writing. While it immediately helped me realize what you were trying to portray, I wonder if it's to obvious, can the meaning behind the photo be understood without it? But the more I look at it the more I realize that it helps us not only realize the difference in race but the pride you have in yours, and that being something that you are not willing to give up because its apart of you. Well, that's just my interpretation.
Technically, I love the lighting and the contrast its soft and give the piece a very intimate air.
I feel like I'm rambling, I thoroughly enjoy this piece, its absolutely amazing. The issue is something I've definitely been struggling with and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks about it.

Thank you very much. I am very happy you are able to understand the issue so easily.
I was inspired by this when i spoke with my Dad last year. I told him i had a new girlfriend (now my ex-girlfriend). His first response was "Is she white? you really have this thing for white girls." he was joking, but it got me thinking. She came from a very nice family, 2 parents, 2 kids, not many other family members. i have a huge ethnic family. so i see what my dad meant.
I am very happy you saw what the writing signifies for me. for one thing my heritage is a part of who i am and i wanted it to be clear what i was representing.
do not worry, i love hearing rambling interpretations of my work. if all i hear is "it is really nice." i do not learn anything that could help me for later. thank you so much for your thoughts.

You're very welcome, and thank you for the response, I love hearing how people get the inspiration for their art. It helps me understand the artist better.

i could not agree more. It is always interesting to find out how people got their inspiration. It can come from the most unlikely of sources.

Isn't that insane?! The mind is an amazing thing to pay attention to, it never ceases to astound me when someone can get inspiration from their dinner, or the texture of their carpet. It's one of the most beautiful things about art.

Oh actually I know why, it's in the Armenian-Lebanese dialect from the north that's why. So if you're from any other part, it looks wrong, but I wouldn't hang on it, it's different from region to region. And it can also be interpreted as "emotions are deceiving" or "emotions are sly" something along those lines.
