I brought it inside where it was warmer so it could die a peaceful death. It doesn't matter that I left my finger prints upon its wings, it can barely open and close them as is.Edit: Sorry guys, it's not a monarch it's a viceroy: an imitator.

Two excellent macros of the butterfly. Like many other insects, butterflies do not really have long lives. Yet, insects multiply so much that you'd see so many others that are quite similar.
