The one and only. I had a lot of fun drawing this one, especially in the shading department. The runes I drew around his arms and legs were originally going to say some dated Latin phrase like "IN PACE REQUIESCAT", but I decided it would be too complex, both to etch in and in relation to distracting from the rest of the design.

One design quirk I never originally noticed when playing until looking at the selection icon a few more times was that he has a giant noose around his neck, tied to his waist in the sprite. Mmmm, morbid. Probably explains his weakness to Cut Man or whatever.
His sprite inadvertently looks a lot like a purple Crypt Man with horns, though this was obviously unintentional. Crypt Man had different eyes, a giant cloak, and a whole nosed masque as opposed to the more skull-like face he has now. They both just kind of... evolved that way.

Anyway, easy stage, easy boss... at the natural cost of instant-death for the former and nearly the same for the latter's scythe. An appropriate way to bridge the Fusion and Fortress stages, I would say.
