Description Venezia, Carnevale 2007
One of the scultures I keep in highest regard, those old signs of forgotten power, so distant almost a tale.
A traditional Venetian mask, dark and mysterious in front of them.

Can you feel the moemnt of silence and mystery amidst the Carnival?

Camera: Leica M6
Lens: Leica Elmar 2.8/50mm
Film: Fujichrome Sensia 200

I love all of the masks you've captured images of but this image really sticks with me as it reminds me of something I still vividly recall from my last visit to Italy, where I saw a mime surrounded by birds standing as still as a statue outside of a cathedral wearing a mask very similar to the one shown here. Nice use of repetition w. the figure in the foreground and the statues in the background, gives the image a really foreboding, eerie mood

ps - A Leica isn't too shabby either

I love this one too, the other images are nice, but abit what you expect from carnival. This one has a touch of silent class - and the background is as important as the mask.

Leica, Hassy, Rollei.... we all are getting a bit elitarian in this digicam world!

Curious. I haven't seen the movie though, so I don't catch the citation.
