Description
This week challenge at battle-artist was Top Cows The Darkness.I'm absolutely crazy about Michael Turner's art, so couldn't resist giving it a bash.
Unfortunately i didn't have time to finish the pencils, so just decided to scan what i had, and tweak a bit in PS
Hope you like. And please PLEASE throw some criticism. That's how i develop and learn!

I had a brief internship at Top Cow. I got to know Turner a little. He was a great guy, definitely lives up to all the stories you've heard. Also, I go to a lot of conventions, so I've been lucky to meet a lot of great industry people and get a bunch of great sketches.

But i DO envy you so much you actually got to meet michael turner!!! So, do you actually do comics for a living since you've interned at a publisher?

No, I don't do it for a living. It was a short lived internship where I didn't really do much. I did learn a bit about comic coloring from Steve Firchow though.
The internship was just cool because I got to go hang out with the people who made my favorite comics, which was great for a fan-boy like me. Back then, top cow was pretty lax. We played video games and board games, and everyone was able to go around and check out what the others were working on.
Mike was always willing to sign comics or just available to answer questions. Turner was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Can't say enough about him.

I'm a huge fan of Turner too(i miss him). I love Jackie! This is a great piece. I'd say make the darklings have more character. Sometimes they are doing dumb/mean stuff(attacking somebody) or dressing up (batman and robin). And i take it you didn't finish the left arm? I like how the hair flows but on the left-side make it a little more wild. Other than that it looks great!

I'm a Darkness fanatic and I think this is my favorite Darkness so far from this contest. I am also a big Turner fan. He did a darkness for me once. You can see it here:
