Page 3 finally done and posted! Turnings - Page 3
Silverglass's comic was lovely as was the one by Boribaby - excellent stories and art, but yes, doing a fully-painted comic takes forever if you are going it alone, which is why you will never see me giving creators a hard time about the span of time between postings.
Osamu Tezuka did 10 pages a day of whatever manga he was working on, BUT he was doing old-school B/W manga with little beyond pen-shading in the early days. I'm not sure what his production level was for manga like Buddha, where he had some amazing details and textures page after page. At some point he had a studio with staff, so perhaps by then he had apprentices and journeymen doing those details.
I'm unfussy about comics and manga - if the story is good, I'm happy with everything from pencil-sketches, B/W, to color, it's all good. I'm still a big fan of the original black and while Elfquest by Wendy Pini. I appreciate the beautiful color versions, but the B/W originals had a raw impact that was so good.

Wow, Osamu Tezuka sounds like an absolute machine, I can't imagine doing that. I can rough sketch a couple of pages or so in an evening, but that doesn't include any rendering at all. My cintiq has sped up my process a lot (which I actually sit down to work, which has been a problem lately since I've been distracted,) but I still can't match that. I like B + W too but it depends on the style, and it hasn't worked for my own work personally. Everything in Rimer's too colourful haha. I don't know how people like Zach Morrison (Paranatural -> www.paranatural.net/ ) or Ashley Cope (Unsounded -> unsoundedupdates.tumblr.com/ ) handles doing everything themselves. With mine I got inspired by Pascalle Lepas (Wilde Life -> wildelifecomic.com/ ) because she just colours her clean sketches, so that's what I do now. Saves a lot of work if you don't actually ink, but in the end it's whatever style and process best fits the story I think. I love the wide variety of art styles which come out of artists figuring out their comic creation processes!

Yep, things are going to get "exciting". Finally got page two posted after a pair of months that were sent from the netherworld.
