Haha yah having the right colours was a little problem. In the ref I used her hair looked a very light purple and I didn't have a purple that colour @_@ So I hope it looks okay with the colour I chose ^^

And I'm real glad you drew it, too. Yeah, I know what you mean... I use my Cool Grey 30% Prismacolor pencil when I'm colouring her hair, cause it looks grey to me. But it does have a slight purple tinge to it, now that I think about it, so it's all good.

Grey looks like a good match too. My ref it looked real purple-ish then once I'd drawn it I was looking around google some more and loads of pics looked grey XD

Yeah, it's hard to find a lot of good refs with the same colours... and it's even harder to find a pencil that matches a computer-generated shade. So I can totally relate.

Yeah, most of the time I do find a matching pencil. I've had my pencils for over 10 years now so when I see a colour I'll relate it to the pencil immediately.

Then you get the colours that just don't match. That's a pain

Ah... most of mine are recent acquisitions; obtained over the last 2-3 years. I used Prang for so long, but when my sister introduced me to Prismacolor, I realised how crappy Prang was, so I pretty much stopped using 'em. I still keep a few pencils, like Grey-blue, cause that's mostly my eye colour. IRL it's grey-green-blue, but I use the Grey Blue pencil for my Anime self's eye colour.

Oh yeah, I think I figured out the problem with Nagi's hair colour. It's purple in the video games, but it's grey in the Anime. There's the difference, so if you used purple, it's fine, and if you use grey, it's fine, too.

I use crayola pencils. They're pretty cheap and I bet a lot of pencils are better than them but they do the job

Oooooooooh- that makes perfect sense. It completely explains the confusion And I'm glad I didn't get her hair colour wrong

Ah, I use Prismacolour primarily, but I've also got Crayolas that have come in handy an awful lot. I've been told they're real good for blending colours, too. Oh, that reminds me... since you use Crayolas, which colour do you typically use for skintones??

How are Prsimacolours? I've always used Crayola 'cayse they're cheapest but they tend to crack and then they can't be sharpened and then they're basically useless. X3

Ooo for skintones I use the peach pencil. It's pretty awesome because like 10 years ago I had a peach pencil but it's a lot darker than the peach they sell now so I usually use the lighter peach of the skin and the darker one for shading

They're good, but expensive... one pencil costs $1.50 here, so I have to be careful on how many I can buy at once. I'm glad I got that box with 50 Crayolas in it for like $6, so if I run out of a Prismacolor, I can use a Crayola equivalent until I can get it replaced with another Prismacolor. And Crayola has a lot more colours than Prismacolor, so that's always good, too.

Hmm, peach?? I've tried to use that myself, and somehow it comes out looking too orange-y. So I use Prismacolor's Light Peach, and it still looks too orange for me. So I'm trying to see what shades other ppl use to see how they get good skintone colours.

Yeah, it really sucks. The Prismacolors are like $1.50 at one store, but they're $1.99 each at Michaels (where I just started working). Total freakin' ripoff. So I end up buying a new pencil when the previous one runs waaaaaaay low... I'e had to colour with a pencil that's like less than half an inch long before; that REALLY sucked.

Aw small pencils are a pain. I have a dark blue which is just over a cm long. It doesn't fit in my sharpener any more but crayola don't sell a blue that dark anymore so I can't replace it D:
