Very dramatic cloud image! Wouldn't have wanted to be flying through that.

Cheers

Thanx David!
By the way, I see you are the proud owner of a Canon EOS 5D MarkII?
To own one is one of my future dreams!!!
I can see the outstanding quality of the images (and the person who took them ofcourse). The luminosity, depth and sharpness are stunning!

Thank you for commenting/advising on my photos, it is appreciated very much

The 5D Mk II is a recent acquisition and a couple of high spec Canon lenses are even more recent. It is an outstanding camera,as are the lenses, and I have yet to get to the HD movie recording. The full frame makes a difference not least because you can crop a distant subject right down and still have an image of several Mega pixels - see the shot of geese that I posted. I reckon that I'll spend at least a year getting to know this camera. There is so much to it.

Cheers

David

You are a man of many interests... Photography/IR/Full HD video... I like that!
The year to figure out this (one of a kind) camera will be one of your best years I would imagine...I envy you
Within two weeks I go to Cuba for a vacation and before then I want to purchase my first lens, a 70-300 telezoom.
However, can not afford a "lightstrong" lens, if you understand what I mean?

Hi again - I think the term "lightstrong" lens refers to one that has a very large aperture e.g. f1.8 or better f1.4. I have a Canon 50mm 1.4 lens that is very good in low light. Unfortunately, I know nothing about Sony lenses and can offer no opinion. Some telezoom lenses offer a macro capability. If Sony does one of those that would be the one to go for as it then allows close ups as well as telephotos.

If we don't speak before you go - have a great time in Cuba - don't smoke too many cigars and beware the rum.

Cheers

Hi David,

Thanx for your advise about the lens...glad that you understood "lightstrong".
(Sometimes, the not often used words are not so easy to describe)
Going to enjoy the sun, beaches, landscape and massage...the cigars... don't care for them
but the CUBA LIBREs will be hard to resist...to be frank: I won't since it is my all time favourite!

By the way: Like the countryside with a "C" (difficult word) that is the subject of your photography a lot (and I don't mean Crete, where you obviously had a good time there too! ;
