I need to visit there again one day if I am in the area. I was not a birder back then and want to know what I was REALLY missing!

They have redone the area around the lake/pond. They installed a boardwalk type path with a railing around the street side of the pond. The animals are still there... And the rarely used horse track. There is still abundant wildlife there! Well worth a visit.

Ahhh, yeah! Just before I left the pond was being worked on. I had a disappointing last few weeks with that park because of it. Are the Egyptian Geese still around?

Yes I think I have seen them there. It is a great place for photography and wildlife. Another great park is Spring Lake Park in S. Plainfield.

Thank you!
I'm not entirely sure what kind of bird that is - it's not a pigeon. Try posting it in this journal from the Bird's Club. People would be happy to help you ID!

What's it got, a bullhead?

I'm not sure... could be. He has those large "whiskers" on his face, but I'm not too good with fish.

Lovely capture. I love the light on the wings illuminating the feathers.
