Hey, I've always loved this piece. It's haunting, and it captures the mind. I literally have to dig through my favorites every few months when I get the hankering to see it again. So, I wrote a poem for it. I hope you like it!
And so the stag,
heart-a-rest,
with a hide so white,
did spear his breast.
The life went quickly
from the tine in his chest.
The two lay still,
hunter and prey at rest.

Yes it is! One of the illustration has a Great King riding a stag during a fierce battle. This reminded of the scene. Very impacting work and so beautifully done. Congrats o the DD.
