I used that too although I only bought about three games so far(the fourth one was bought by my boyfriend which is Sonic 2).o
I bought Super Mario 64, Super Mario Bros and Final Fantasy. :3 Although the controls were a little hard to get the hang of but I got used to it.

Of course, me and my bro are already buying the old school consoles so we can play it there too.

I must add, my old NES cartridge copy of SMB2 rarely ever even works now. (And I've even cleaned it, and stuff.) So at least my Wii version works every time I start it up.

My NES works way better than my Wii did. The sensor bar was a piece of shit. And half the time I couldn't play because the batteries ran out so fast. NES doesn't need batteries or sensor bar.

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 18:42:31 +0000 UTC]

Honestly, I haven't really had those problems, and my sensor bar works perfectly. (Maybe you didn't configure it like you're supposed to, and such in the Wii options.) Maybe you should've gotten rechargeable batteries like I said if you use them quickly. And also, you're supposed to use alkaline batteries for the Wii remote, sense those last longer.

BluveyProductions In reply to Beau-Skunk [2013-06-27 20:00:19 +0000 UTC]

I remember making sure the settings were right and constantly adjust the bar.
One day some pets chewed the bar, so we got a third party BECAUSE MODERN NINTENDO SUCKS SO MUCH THEY DON'T SELL REPLACEMENTS
The third party bar sucked, so I smashed it, and a later the Wii got stolen. And of course modern Nintendo does not replace Wiis. I heard that back in the day they replaced NES's.
Wii>$250
All the Batteries for Wii>i guess $50
gas money driving to store to get batteries>about$50
3rd party sensor bar>about $20
Games and remotes>about $100
Virtual Console shit> about $30
$500 dollars wasted on that damn Wii. That's why I play NES and GameCube, gonna buy and SNES and N64, never get a Wii U.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 20:33:37 +0000 UTC]

Actually, that's false, they do sell replacement motion bars on the official website, and I think you can order them via an address in the manual.
And they didn't replace entire NES systems if they were stolen either, as you couldn't prove if they were or not. If they did anyone could just claim it was stolen, and get a free $150/$200 game system.

And seriously, you're including gas money as part of the charge to further your complaints? (Don't you spend gas going to the used game store to?) Now you're just looking for every little minor detail to complain about.
Also, $50 worth on batteries is ironically still cheaper then most monthly electrical bills.

Well, that's your choice then, but keep in mind the NES, SNES, N64, and GameCube games, and accessories were just as pricey back in the day. In fact, I heard back in the '80s NES games were $40 a piece, as well. Just as much as a brand new Wii disc game. So it's actually pretty standard pricing for newer game systems.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BluveyProductions In reply to Beau-Skunk [2013-06-27 20:38:52 +0000 UTC]

You probably can get replacements now but when I still had a Wii you couldn't. When I was buying the third party I asked them and they said they didn't have them.

And Wii uses more electricity than any other Nintendo system. Even more then the GameCube, and the GameCube is very powerful.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 21:01:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, then the guy either didn't know, or lied so you'd buy their third-party crap then.

Actually, I hear the Wii uses less electricity then most game systems. Are you just making up excuses to hate the Wii, or did you actually do research on it, and get false information somewhere?
I like the GameCube to, but you seem downright to obsessed with it. If you prefer it, that's fine, but if other people prefer the Wii, let them enjoy their prefered system.

BluveyProductions In reply to Beau-Skunk [2013-06-27 21:14:04 +0000 UTC]

The Wii uses less power than the Xbox 360 and the PS3 but still more than any other Nintendo system. And I bought this up because you mentioned the monthly electricity bills.

I didn't make this stamp, Scooter... And how is it "trolling?" It's only upsetting you, and you're the one who's hassling every commenter on this stamp with your fanboy Wii/VC-hatred. You're the one who started hassling me for enjoying something you don't... (How dare I!)

Alot of retro gamers are actually fine with the Virtual Console service. (I'm a retro gamer actually.) Heck, thanks to it, I don't have to pay 30 bucks for rare games I don't own like "Star Tropics," "Kirby's Super-Star," (which I got for free from Club Nintendo actually) or "Super Punch-Out." Be thankful for the Virtual Console service, so people can have a way to access to old games legally, and keep those classic games alive for newer generations of gamers.

I have SMB2 for both NES, and Wii.

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 19:18:26 +0000 UTC]

That's a pretty unfair thing to say... Who are you to judge? (You play GBA remakes of NES games, how is that any different? Aside from one game being tangeable.)

The Virtual Console like it, or not, is made by Nintendo to, so they're official rereleases just like the GBA remake ones. So whether games are in game cartridge form, or on a memory card, they're still legit games. Video games are actually nothing, but data, and codes actually all the same.

Plus, I can think of ALOT of retro games you CAN'T play on a GameCube, or Gameboy Player.
Going by your logic, you're not a "true" retro gamer either, for playing them on GameCube/GBPlayer to, instead of on the NES, or SNES. Your logic makes no sense to me, sorry.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BluveyProductions In reply to Beau-Skunk [2013-06-27 19:46:29 +0000 UTC]

I used to have the GBA remakes, but now I have Super Mario Bros 1,2, and 3 on NES.

In 2006 Nintendo changed their logo to grey and made the Wii. They are really not Nintendo anymore.

Gamecube Game Boy Player can play any Game Boy, Game Boy Color, or Game Boy Advance, including the classic NES series on GBA, and is NOT an emulator and VC is.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 20:56:15 +0000 UTC]

The "Classic NES Series" GBA games while good were only made up of a few NES games, (and most of which weren't even released outside of Japan) and they weren't very good copies, as they had to squish/distort, and cut-off part the NES's graphics to fit on the GBA screen's smaller pixel resolution. So they weren't perfect remakes actually like the VC versions are.
Also, they were more expensive in cartridge format, and I'd rather have the cheaper official digital versions personally.
That's my business. If you wish to have the cartridge format, that's perfectly fine, but as I said already you're in no authority to tell people what format they can own games in.

Actually they still use the red racetrack Nintendo logo... Seriously, they change the color of the logo on a few pieces of merchandise, and suddenly you say they aren't Nintendo anymore? SERIOUSLY?!
If you're going to be that nit-picky over the color of a logo, and say that alone shows a game company isn't what they "used to be," I'm done talking to you then, if you're going to be that batshit-petty/nit-picky about things. Sorry. You're just now looking for any reason you can to bash the Wii, and or VC, and you're not worth my time.

Good day, sir. Don't expect anymore responses from me.

Go to Nintendo's website, I'll bet you 100 DA points the logo's grey. You don't even see the red nintendo logo on their games anymore.

Nice stamp, I think the VC's a pretty cool system. I like how they even have some hard-to-find old games on it like, Castlevania 4, Super Punch-Out, and such.
(Though, I think it could've used custom controls for some games like "Super Mario World," considering I only have the GameCube controller, and not the "Classic Wii" one.)
I also love how you can save your old games now that you couldn't before.

I have more VC games on my Wii then I do the disk games.

I can't play games like "Super Mario Galaxy 2" on a GameCube, or Game Boy Player though.

Actually, when I got my Wii repaired, I still got to keep all the games I purchased/downloaded. In fact, even my save files were kept in tact, and safe.
Also, I own an NES, SNES, and such, yet I don't see any difference in the controls, and sound. (Heck, the Wii-mote even kinda feels like an NES controller.) Honestly I think the Wii versions look a bit clearer then the NES/SNES ones.

As for batteries, you can get rechargeable batteries, or a rechargeable battery pack for the Wii controller if you're to cheap to keep buying batteries, or you can just use a GameCube controller on the Wii to play VC games.
(Also, you don't seem to mind the Gameboy ALSO uses batteries. I saw that Gameboy stamp on your DA page. Double standards much?)

You also don't seem to realize even cartridge games can be stolen all at once, if the thief has a bag, and throws all of your game cartridges in it if he finds them.
I heard of a kid on the news who's entire huge library of games was stolen, so it's not difficult for thieves.
So whether, it's a tangeable game, or not, you can still lose your games either way.

BluveyProductions In reply to Beau-Skunk [2013-06-26 22:40:55 +0000 UTC]

You can play Super Mario Sunshine on GameCube, much better than Galaxy 2.

"Actually, when I got my Wii repaired..." Why did it break in the first place? It's a damn Wii.
And since you have a NES and SNES, why the heck are you rebuying the games just so you can EMULATE then on a Wii.

Rechargeable batteries? I don't want to spend more money on a Wii.
"Gameboy ALSO uses batteries" WELL DUH IT'S A HANDHELD!! WII IS NOT A HANDHELD!!
What they should have done is have built-in rechargeable batteries like the PS3.

btw thieves only steal modern systems. They try to take as few things as possible and get out quick.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 05:51:47 +0000 UTC]

Sunshine was a good game, but I beg to differ. Super Mario Galaxy 2 felt more like a platformer like the older 2D games to me, which is why I prefer it.

Because at the time I didn't have the games, and they were in my parents storage, and I didn't have access to them. (I wasn't even sure if I'd ever see those games again, sense they were several states away, but thankfully they survived.)
Also, so I could play SMB3 with a save feature. (The NES version isn't as good without one if you ask me, so that justified paying 5 bucks for the VC version to me.) Virtual Console NES & SNES games have save/suspend features added to them which come in handy.
...And for the most part most VC games I've bought are games I don't own actually, so I'm not rebuying my entire library like you claim. I only did a few like SMB3.

So it's ok for handheld games to use batteries, but not wireless console controllers? I don't see what the difference is, especially if you play both in your own home. (I must add, the Gameboy also uses more batteries then the Wii-Mote did, I recall, unless you get a GBColor or GBAdvance.)
While I kinda agree, the Wii-mote should've been rechargeable, but there is a downside to those built-in rechargeable battery pack. Once they stop making them when the console goes out of print, and they stop working somehow, then you can't play those games anymore, (Unless you buy the newer system) sense it uses an exclusive battery pack, and not normal ones. So there is a disadvantage to that, as well.

Considering the Wii is "outdated" now, (with the WiiU out now) it's no longer even a "modern" system.
Still, that thief I mentioned stole all that guys games old, new whatever, and he had ALOT. Thieves like old games to, so no game is really safe. You just have to keep your home, and belongings secure.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BluveyProductions In reply to Beau-Skunk [2013-06-27 18:05:37 +0000 UTC]

The GBA version Super Mario Bros 3 can save and it's not an emulator. You can play it on the Game Boy Player with the rumble feature but of course not on Wii. paying 5 bucks? but you are paying more money by buying batteries for the wii mote. And wii's the most expensive.

Cheapest game store (play n trade)
NES $35
SNES $70??
N64 $25
NGC $35
Wii $80 way overpriced.

Also, no matter what kind of batteries you use it has problems. Wired is best best. All Nintendo systems are wired and Wii needs batteries. And a Wii mote uses more batteries than a Game Boy because it uses them up much faster. All my Game Boys last a few months and a wii mote lasts a few days.

I've been robbed twice, and I can tell you that it's rare when they steal anything that's old. Also it's easier to grab a Wii than an NES and a load a cartidges.

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 18:51:05 +0000 UTC]

Wait, wait, wait. You're saying it's ok to play a 32-bit remake of a classic game on a GameCube or GBA, but it's not ok, and you're not a "true retro gamer" if you play an official digital Virtual Console version of the original 8-bit version on Wii that's completely unchanged form the NES? That makes no sense to me... (And honestly, while the SNES/GBA version was nice, I prefer the 8-bit graphics/sound of SMB3 then the GBA remake. Plus, the GBA's screen pixel resolution was smaller, so you couldn't get to see as much of the screen as the NES & SNES versions.)

I don't know what batteries you're using... My Wii-mote's batteries have lasted much longer then a few days, and I have a GBAdvance to actually, and IMO it lasts just as long as a GBA. I've had my GBA's batteries get used up in a few days if I play it to much, as well.

What country are you from? 'Cause where I come from Wii games are $20-$40 where I come from. (I never once saw a Wii game for $80)
Honestly, I think paying $35 for an NES game is way more overpriced, sense I've seen them just as cheap as a VC game in some used game stores. You're not a very good shopper if you're paying that much for these games, unless you're getting them in close-to mint-condition with the original packaging and stuff. Heck, I actually got F-Zero GX for GameCube for only $8 before used.

I'm sorry to hear that, but that doesn't justify you saying people aren't "true retro gamers" just for enjoying a game console you don't.

What I'm saying is NES, SNES, and GBA is legit hardware with real cartridges, while Wii virtual console is just emulators and ROMs.

THOSE AREN'T PRICES FOR GAMES, THOSE ARE PRICES FOR CONSOLES. The sad part is good N64 games are as expensive as the N64...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Beau-Skunk In reply to BluveyProductions [2013-06-27 20:43:34 +0000 UTC]

Doesn't matter, either cartridge, disc, or VC games are still games, and still made up of just software codes, and data.
The only difference is one's on a cartridge, and the other is on a memory card. They're still real game software, sold, and distributed by Nintendo, no matter what you say.

In fact, in Japan, they used to have a service late in the SuperNES's lifetime where you could purchase, and download a video game of your choice into a game cartridge from a store kiosk. So really the VC, and digital versions of games isn't a completely "alien" form to own games. It's older then you think, and no matter what you say they're still legit official games.

But if you'd rather have the cartridge format, that's your business, that's your preference, and that's perfectly fine.
However, don't hassle everyone who likes the VC (like you're doing here), and telling people how they should own video games, or that they aren't real "retro gamers" if they enjoy the VC service.
Not everyone has the privilege to hunt down ancient video game consoles, games, or have used game stores where they live.
And honestly, some used NES games, and such I bought barely even work, even after cleaning them, and stuff, so not all used cartridge games work well, so honestly, I'd rather have the VC versions that work better for me. It's my business what versions of games I wish to own, not your's.

Let us enjoy what we want, and we'll let you enjoy what you prefer.
