Description

  • How long have you been on DeviantArt? I've been here since late 2011 and officially started submitting art early 2012.

  • What does your username mean? It's up for interpretation. Nakumah properly spelled Nakoma (native american) means great warrior or spirit. Akumah though means demon in Japanese and has been a word that's been a stigma in my life. Hence why it's open to interpretation. Like the judgement from a first impression. before knowing me, will people think I'm good or bad? Appearances can be deceiving but you'll always find the truth is far more enlightening.

  • Describe yourself in three words. Strong, powerful but gentile.

  • Are you left or right handed? depends on what I'm doing. but for the sake of writing I'm right handed.

  • What was your first deviation?

I joined because of the contest

  • What is your favourite type of art to create? Traditional and Winter Wears. I've been drawing and painting since I could scribble. And it's been a life saver when it comes to my grades in grade school... no internet and no money for picture books meant I had to draw or fail in school. Yeah... some schools in Puerto Rico can be full of jerk teachers that way, but hey at least they loved the drawings.

  • If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? There's a long list. If anything inmediate it would be digital art, jewelwry, dying and embroidery... I suck at embroidery.

  • What was your first favourite?

Seriously... I really want to wear this thing!

  • What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? Digital art that are done as poster work or promotional art. Full paintings, that sort of thing.

  • Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? That's a hard one, but maybe Goldenwolf because I have been following her art for years before I joined. Since Jr high I think.

  • If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? Skypiesoup because they were one of the first friends I made here. :devIpplywittrees: Because he was one of the first people in the world that I met where they didn't share my religious views but didn't try to decimate me because I did have one. In fact we have a pretty good friendship going on, religion not the concern which is a relief because I was tired of the "holier than thou" attitude from other people, especially from my own religion. I wanted to meet my friend Aphose but I will never get the chance. She committed suicide in April. Lastly ArmoredAlienArtist along with all my other watchers. The next answer will tell you why.

  • How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? ArmoredAlienArtist is a friend I have made here through deviant art and one day, during a crisis, she along with many other fellow deviants quite litteraly saved my dad's life the moment they all took commissions. My dad is a live today because of them. I want to meet all of them in person and express gratitude, but I can't. The support from all my watchers can be inspiring. They tell me not to stop, to keep moving and there always there to bring me up when I'm falling down. I've told many useres of how deviant art is currently my "job". This is because no one has hired me since my work and study jobs ended or at all. So when deviants commission me for an item, they are litterally helping get something to eat, drink and at one point pay my college bills. In other ways they have clothed me. Because when they order a piece of clothing from me, the left over materials such as thread and scraps go to fixing old clothes or making new ones. And while I may be staying with my parents in the mean time, it's not comfortable watching them struggle to take care of me and themselves at the same time. So in short, my fellow deviants have made it possible for me to help my parents and they have also kept me off of the street and in a home.

  • What are your preferred tools to create art? Pen, Paper, scanner, mouse and computer, canvas & paint, sewing tools and fabrics.

  • What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? The disaster I call my room XD. Nope not gonna lie. The place is organized, but it's an organized mess XD. My books, my yard, my pets, my music and my own imagination fill in the gaps for me. If I cant use that I'll look up the creatures or plants that relate to what I want to do off of the net, I observe the photographs and wallah!

  • What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? When I first joined . I know it sounds corny. But some of the best people I met on devianArt I met in that group and I made great friends there, even if were not chatting everyday, I consider everyone there a friend . When ever someone was in trouble I tried to help out when I knew about it. To my surprise lots of them would come to help me out in turn when I didn't expect any at all. I've lived a life where people mostly took me for granted and when I was in a real dire situation, they have left me alone, abandoned and suffering through the struggle to resolve everything on my own. Most of the time I got by and became stronger for it but it's not as easy as it sounds. I was cold and hardened because of it. But during my years of college, besides an extremely few great people I've met and now call BFF's locally, these guys, these "fellow uuncas", were always there for me. Everyone of them . It's been good memories since. I'm pretty funny now too instead of a angry block head I once was XD.
