Description So, quick question, would you have find this more appropriate if the hare had been eaten?
I didn't kill him for the head of the fanzine I made the comics for, she didn't liked the idea, but personnally I was more than inclined to let him be devoured by Macha.
I've met lot of people for and lot of people against it, so I'm interested to know. Don't hesitate to explain why, there is no dom answers ^_^

for example, here are my reasons: She's a wolf. I know, that's obvious, but for met she kill and eat animals, that's the way of life for her. Or she WOULD eat if she wasn't famished by her folks. So she suffer from malnutrition, survive on little animals easy to hunt alone or on more little animals caught by Kmurr. So, a hare is a premium meal. (Plus at this point, she suspect she's going for a long journey, she need all the food she can get)
Plus, later in the story, she herself state that carnivores can not be trusted. She is one and know what she and her kind are capable of. In life animals (and more generally people) have to do things to survive, even if sometimes that's not pretty or kind, Macha knows it and doesn't lie to herself about it.

So here, don't hesitate to tell why you would agree or disagree about it.

.....well, that is a bit tough to answer. you make a good point to be sure, but just because she doesn't lie to herself about it, doesn't mean she should embrace it with out some thought. I mean just look at her and the duck, she would never eat him because he saved her life, that gave them ground to become friends, and neither have regretted it since. and even thou the duck helped catch the rabbit, the fact the rabbit knew and told them about a way they could really be together, well he basically [even if it was to save his life] helped them, so it's only right to spare his life in return. a life for a life so to speak.
personally, I preferred he lived, kinda have a soft spot for little creatures that beg to live when caught by predators.
but I might have a way that can maybe satisfy both sides, he's allowed to live, but has to serve them, or he has to help them on their journey,be their guide, both have merits. ^^ all stories need the comedy relief from a side character every now and then , it be funny watching the wolf threatening she will eat him if he keeps being annoying. lol there's many ideas that could work. ^^

Oh thank you very much for the answer! Very interesting point of view, I must confess I never even thought of the hare as a comic relief who'd stay but the idea is really fun.

Not in the main story.  I could make a "what if" chapter but the main adventures are to be lived by only Macha and Kmurr, a third character in the group would break my need for them to be a "couple against the world ". They can meet good animals on the way (in fact that was planned, I didn't have time to put thoses pages in the story) but they have to stay two during their journey.
But just for the fun, in a gag or something, that would be fun ^__^
