I was reminded of this today when I woke up to a fresh blanket of snow on the ground. It's always a treat when snow falls in the middle of the autumn color season. The contrast of the leaves with the snow is amazing. The colors around the rest of the state aren't at peak yet, but where I live they are so it was really good timing for the snow to come.

I love the changing colors and will take advantage of them this weekend with a color drive on Dave Wood Road... but I'm also sad that summer was cut off without warning. Colorado's weird that way.
