EQD NATG Day 17 : Draw a villainous or misunderstood pony.
After missing a whole week due to my very last college course wrapping up and Bronycon it's time to get back in the game. There's just something inherently cool about a corrupted Twilight, you know?

This is reminiscent of a particularly jarring fanfiction I read. Hard to read, but oh so so good. Something about the Elements of Opposition, in which Twilight imbued her element with another Power by using it to an artifact known as the Diadem of Order. It's stripped her of her compassion. She became a villain. but enough about that. This art is Splendid. Well done.

Twilight has seen things, horrible things. Things that needed a full suit of magical armor, all the power of her Element, even a divine blessing from Faust herself. She saw Discords taint.

Canterlot lays in ruins. The soft, echoing, drum of the rain upon the shattered flagstones of the many once beautiful buildings and bloodied cobblestones only adds to the dead city's sorrowful air. Where once there had been life, now there was only the empty memories of what had been, and the soft whispering caress of the forgotten who never left. And though the sun and moon still travel through the sky, none dare seek out the once magnificent castle, nor dare to see if their beloved Princesses had survived.
And, if they did, many whisper as they look at the grayed out stones upon the mountain, perhaps death would have been a blessing.
For, though none enter the city, all know for sure that at least one soul still walks the endless streets.
"It chose me," Twilight whispers, her voice broken and worn. "Tis I who should, and shall, always keep it..."
"That is not how it works," a soft, motherly voice echoes from all around Twilight, causing the scarred alicorn to flinch, and jerk her head to one side. "The nature of harmony is the pass to others, to spread and to reach out to others. It changes with the days, you need to let it pass to another, Twilight."
"What would you know," Twilight growls, turning slightly, the cracked tip of her horn showing from beneath her hoof. "The Elements did not help you when they came! It did not save you!"
"Nor could it have," another, slightly more arrogant voice comes from the other side, causing Twilight to growl louder and whip her head to the other side. "How could it have helped us when you refused to let it pass to another?"
"YOU KNOW NOTHING OF ITS POWER!" Twilight snaps, pointing an accusing armored hoof at the source of the other voice. "You... you who were a Nightmare! You know nothing of its power! You, who was lost to darkness can no nothing of the light I carry!"
"You truly did learn nothing from me," the first voice sighs, the sound of it causing Twilight to flinch as if struck.
"I learned enough, Celestia," Twilight says curtly, all but spitting the name as she turns fully towards the shattered throne. "I learned far more than you could ever imagine."
"T'was you downfall," the second voice icily sniffs. "T'was this desire, this compulsion, to learn it all that led us here."
"And what is so bad about that!?" Twilight shouts, taking a step forward, the cracked flagstones of the throne room's floor grinding beneath her armored shoe. "The element - it chose me." she pauses as she ascends the throne, "And it is mine alone!" Stopping before the shattered, lifeless body, of the mare she had once considered a second mother, and the smaller form of her sister, she sighs. "I just wish you could have seen that sooner, Celestia," Twilight whispers gently, lowering her her hood as she sneers at the corpse. "I just wish you would have joined me."
