As far as James Horner goes, I'd prefer the heavy, emotional scores that he did for An American Tail and The Land Before Time above the adrenaline that he did for Aliens and his two Star Trek films.

Horner also did the music for Legends of the Fall, which is an absolutely stunning film with a score that is both haunting and beautiful.
James Horner is a very talented musician. His music is amazing and your fanart is quite nice! Good job!

James Horner was my favourite composer, not long ago. I still listen to his music now and then!

thanks, I do believe I knew that, but that deviation description is nearly 2 years old. I actually never did get to see davinci code, so I don't know if the soundtrack was any good. but it probably was, Hans is good.

Such a cool idea.
I actually prefer Horner's music to Williams'. It's just a shade more subtle than Williams' and reinforces the mood of the film without Williams' tendency to grab you and shake you around and say "YOU WILL FEEL SAD NOW! AND NOW, SCARED! OKAY, NOW YOU CAN FEEL HAPPY!" during scenes that should really be sad/scary/happy without melodramatic music backing them up.
But. Return of the Jedi has some of my favorite soundtrack music of all time. Maybe because Star Wars is melodramatic, so the Williams soundtrack fits perfectly. Unlike Harry Potter, where I think the music is way too "big" for the movie.
Uhm. Sidetracked there. Anyway, I love this pic, and the notes spelling out the name is a brilliant touch.

yes, it will be very interesting to see what harry potter 4 will be like, since johnny will not be doing the music. Did you know James Horner was offered Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings? But he didn't accept becasue he doesn't like doing sequels movies? While I love Howard Shore's music, I am very curious to how James would have done Lord of the Rings.
