This applies to all religions.  If your religion is offended by a cartoon, or a video on youtube, or an ad on pepsi, then you really need to consider re-evaluating your beliefs.  I have every right to draw The "Prophet" Mohamed is I want to.  You have a right to be offended but you sure as hell don't have the right to barge in with an AK-47 and shoot up the damn place because my drawings "offended your religious beliefs."

I think this applies to faith in Feminism, and SJW dogma as well. If someone presents facts or does something to the contrary (Like the dorito ad with the baby wanting a dorito in utero offended pro-choice group advocates) then maybe they need to reevaluate their positions.

If your mad because you think Dr. Pepper ruined your religious faith, I think it's safe to say Dr. Pepper isn't the one with the problem....

Dunno about the Dr. Pepper commercial, but after hearing that it shows the evolution stuff, then...

Seriously guys? Are you kidding me?

Not to mention, the Theory of Evolution is a really interesting subject.

Seeing that these came from an ardent Roman Catholic, that's sure is saying a lot.

...they got offended over THAT Dr Pepper add? REALLY?!

Being a Christian sometimes makes you look at others of your faith and just go REALLY? And you wonder why people hate us so much? Calm down!!!
Jeeze...

Lol yeah

Happily that "REALLY?!" thing is the same for everyone - there are some pretty crazy other religious folks out there, and definitely some pretty wacky atheists too. Must be a human thing, lol!

I choked on my water when I saw that Dr. Pepper logo flash by on the stamp. I didn't think you were being serious until seeing that link...to which I choked again. I will never stop being amazed at how easily people can get such in a huff over something as small as that.

Nekromanda In reply to endler [2012-09-22 09:58:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it is a pretty pitiful thing to get all pissy about. One of the things I've been trying to remind myself of lately is to not get so offended at the littlest thing -- probably something that heaps of people out there should learn, too..

Ok... I do believe in God and I think people making a big deal about that stuff is plain silly. Yes, it can get mildly offensive, but it's not a 'threat'. It's going to take more than a soft drink commercial to make me question my beliefs. Seriously, it's just a commercial. And as for YouTube, that place is a breeding ground for controversy. Religion is not going to be the exception. And even then, it's YouTube . If you feel threatened over junk you see on TV or the Internet, maybe you watch too much of that stuff and need a time out from it.

No matter if it's about beliefs or opinion, if you can't stand anything that might oppose it or just offer a different point of view, you're just afraid. Afraid of losing your faith or changing your opinion aahr the devuls lure and brainwash meee!!1!
Listen to the others. If it doesn't change your views, consider your faith strong but realize there's a difference between that and just being damn stubborn and close-minded. If it changes your views, could that really be that bad? I've changed my opinion is some things because I realized I simply didn't think it enough to see what actually fitted me the best. The more arguments against and for something I get the clearer my own position gets. This means, sometimes my opinion changes.
