SheΒ΄s too thin! great shot, great hair, not the model you should show at dA, Β΄cause so many little girls will see this... Girls whose think women have to look like this.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

NerySoul In reply to Schunki [2011-11-29 20:50:31 +0000 UTC]

This is a professional model! She should be thin and high! It's her job.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Tonophy In reply to NerySoul [2011-11-29 22:11:35 +0000 UTC]

Models are TOO thin nowadays though. Seriously, they can be 34's or 32's and get stuff like they have too much fat and stuff like that. What does that signal to young people? And yeah, parents matter in stuff like this, as someone said, but if you're an adult you should know that in the critical age the least thing you listen to is your parents. You have your friends, your older role models, movie stars, models...all those men and women on ads and tv that shows how "you're supposed to be" if you want to be succesful and beautiful. It's stupid, but it's true.

And now to the photo...its interesting, but her dress should have been a tiny bit longer, it kinda destroys that you see her lower part of the bum. At least for me.

Seriously. Just as bad as it is to hear that you are to fat, is it to hear that you are to skinny!

Schunki In reply to Adorabledrool [2011-11-29 20:44:48 +0000 UTC]

ok... sorry for the diction, but itΒ΄s more a comment to the photographer than the model

kindAhumaNbeinG In reply to Schunki [2011-11-29 20:24:06 +0000 UTC]

Hello there.
Allthough I do understand why people want to avoid having bad role models in the media there are two things that came to my mind when I read your comment:
First, this model might be thin but does not look anorexic or otherwhise sick. She's just thin just as I am not and as long as one is healthy, what's the problem with that?
Second, all those little girls have a brain, so they should learn to use it. When I grew up it was the job of my mother to raise me so I could grow up to be a modest and smart being so I could differentiate between reality and fiction. She did her job quite well but it seems to me that todays society wants to toss away their own responsabilities by blaming the media for their own stupidity... Funny thing about this is: it's society who demands the suply... ^^

Best wishes to you

... also my mother told me.. but not every mothers are that great and you donΒ΄t really want to compare todayΒ΄s advertisement with the media influencing the little girls when we were young, do you?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

kindAhumaNbeinG In reply to Schunki [2011-12-01 15:52:55 +0000 UTC]

Yes, sadly it's true that not every child is blessed with good or at least reasonable parents. And exactly that is the problem. I know I'm going to make myself very unpopular with this but the fact that every idiot is able to get children in times where we are so over pupulated is a way bigger problem than the media or art.
In the end, the media is nothing else than a mirror of what the majority of people want to see and so is art (yeah, especially art is driven my economical forces because it's not really a nenecessity)... So what happends when incompetent people have more and more kids? it becomes quite hard for those kids to be anything else than also incompetend (allthough it sure is not impossible). And what happends if the majority of people don't bother to think for themself but instead just enjoy what they're served? they want more...
It's biological normal that we want to see "beautiful" people, that are people with certain characteristics such as youthfulness, symetrie or a healthy appereance... what happened is this: fashion (wich is also a matter of supply and demand) began to to exaggerate those features untill the perception of beauty and health got distorted... there are ones who believe size zero looks healthy and there are others, tormented by those standards, who believe that a size 4 has to be sick... both is not true but even if we knew, we cannot think otherwhise...

the media might be dangerous to some of us, mainly to those without good education and those who live in restrictiv or dangerous political environments (here in europe Italy comes to mind or North Korea in Asia...). But the solution to this is not blaming the media for doing what it's supposed to do, namly serve people what they demand, but to keep an eye on education and to finally get over the taboo that we are too many and too many of us are not able to raise a kid...

Well, since I grew up in switzerland I can say that the media was quite harmless when I grew up and it actually still is. German media is now a bit harsher (especially when it comes to nudity) but at least tries to educate (with no or only little results) but I gotta admit that the american media landscape (not particulary big productions) shocked me when I first came in contact with it. But honestly, there are so many other things that should be looked into before the size zero madness...

And again to make myself unpopular: the one who stops to eat and does not understand that it's dangerous and does not intervene before it's too late, was probably sick from the start... Or have you ever seen a healthy animal starving itself to death?

Best wishes to you!

Thanks for your post. Thats the way people should think
And about the fact, that we should start to criticize other grievance, is also correct... and I do but in this moment, when I see this pic I felt like *omg, I have to write something, Β΄cause many people before had only written things like *oh its so beautiful* (by the way... the leg are absolutly facinating!, but it does not erase the point of critique!).
So IΒ΄m grateful that someone share a bit of my opinion

and second (because the comment is for the artist... not the model): this is not the first thin model she has photographed. She often submit very thin young women. Ok, letΒ΄s say this model is healthy... how do you think about this pic??? model Julia3
